Hello everyone,

Here are some photos of Tiger and Simba. They are now quite inseparable. Tiger really looks at Simba as an older brother that he doesn't have and Simba influences Tiger in a big way. :-D

Both are close to each other now

They play together...

We hope to post more of Tiger and Simba's progress soon. Tiger is due to pay a visit to the vet any day now.

So, do come back for more of their news. Until then.

Hello and welcome back,

Simba
This is Simba. When my wife Honey and I decided to look for another kitten to befriend our Tiger, again we looked up petfinder.my and also mudah.my where we found three DSH kittens of to be given away. They were Dewey (Simba's previous name) and his two siblings Daisy and Oprah, which were all adopted by Megaa of Furry Pies. Furry Pies take in abandoned kittens and cats and try to find suitable homes for them.

According to Megaa, someone had asked to adopt Daisy and Oprah and that Dewey was still available. So, long story short, Dewey was picked up and taken to our home on Friday, 11 May 2012. At this point, Dewey was about three months old, about the same age with Tiger. However, Dewey was easily twice to three times the size of Tiger!

Honey and I renamed Dewey as Simba. Simba have spots on his fur that resembles those of a leopard. For the first two days, Simba looked like he missed his sisters. He adjusted to his new surrounding but was still a bit cold towards Tiger. He'd hiss and growl whenever Tiger comes too close to him. To make matters worse, Tiger, being a playful and naughty little kitten that he is, just could not resist trying to get acquainted with Simba. That was quite a worrying period for both Honey and I.

However, after their first weekend together, Tiger and Simba finally bonded. Much to our relief. For us, it was a really good decision to take in Simba so that Tiger would have a friend growing up. Actually it was also good for Simba. Although he was separated from Daisy and Oprah, he gained a friend.

Up to date, both Tiger and Simba are quite inseparable - where one goes, the other one isn't far away. We're delighted to have them both. Although they now play with each other, sometimes they do play rough. I guess boys will be boys. We take this opportunity to thank Megaa of Furry Pies for letting us have Simba. Also we thank her for her recipe of home-cooked chicken for the kittens, which both of them love. :-D

Stay tuned folks. There'll be more about Tiger and Simba in our next postings.

Hi there,

In this posting, we would like to introduce the first of our two kittens, Tiger and Simba.

Tiger

This is Tiger. He came to live with us on Wednesday, 25 April 2012. We found him available for adoption through petfinder.my and that he was named Gingerly Love by the previous owner. According to her, Gingerly Love is a male Domestic Short Hair (DSH) with a DSH for a mother and a persian/persian mix for a father. At this point of time the kitten was 2-months old.

Upon taking him home, we renamed him Tiger. We noticed that his hair was similar to our previous cat, a persian-mix breed. Somehow we just know that Tiger will grow up to have more of a persian-mix fur rather than the short hair of a DSH.

Tiger easily accepted his new environment and seems happy to be with us. He's fed a diet of Hill's Science Plan kitten food and milk for kittens. He was already potty trained which made life easy for us.

Just after two weeks of having Tiger with us, out of the blue I suggested to my wife Honey for us to get another kitten so that Tiger will have a friend. She happily agreed and immediately we began to look or another kitten.

In our next posting we will introduce our latest family member, Simba.

Please visit our blog again soon. See ya...

Hello visitors,

Tiger and Simba

This is my first attempt at blogging. I'm gonna start by writing about my two kittens Tiger (the smaller one) and Simba, which my wife Honey and I recently adopted. The featured pix above is their latest taken yesterday, Sunday 13 May 2012. We'll try to post pix and stories dated back from 25 April 2012, the day Tiger came to live with us.

Through this blog, we intend to share periodical updates mainly on the kittens' activities as well as on their growth and health progress. We hope that we'll be able to share our experience and provide some tips or pointers on keeping feline friends as pets. What's more important, we hope to pick up some knowledge from those who care to share your experiences in raising and keeping kittens and cats as pets.

Thank you.
